Put Together
Postcards and highlights
don’t show the ache behind the scenes.
Surviving isn’t living,
and smiling isn’t healing.
I don’t want pity—
I just want to be seen.
Just be with me in the thick of it. ♡
Behind the song
The story inside it
“I’m misunderstood in high-def, seen by all, but known by none.”
I wrote Put Together about the distance between looking okay and actually being okay. A beautiful picture, a trip, a smile, or a home someone else would envy can make pain harder for people to believe. The outside can look polished while the inside is quietly coming apart.
The song also speaks to the exhaustion of always being the strong one. I can hold everyone else’s storms, listen to their pain, and keep showing up like sunshine while hiding the nights I cave. Being needed is not the same as being known, and surviving is not the same as healing.
Underneath it all, I am not asking for pity or a perfect answer. I am asking for someone to lean in, ask the real question, and stay without judging or trying to fix me. Put Together is the truth behind the camera: sometimes the person who looks the strongest is the one who most needs permission to stop pretending.
