The People Inside Of Me
Some days I’m the quiet one,
other days I’m fire and storm.
There are people inside of me—
one that loves, one that grieves.
I’m not broken—
I’m a symphony.
You’re safe here. We made it home. ♡
Behind the song
The story inside it
“I’m not broken—I’m a symphony, and every part deserves to sing.”
I wrote The People Inside Of Me about realizing that healing does not always make me feel like one perfectly consistent person. Some parts of me are quiet, some are angry, some are still thirteen and afraid, and some are already reaching for freedom.
For a long time, I treated those voices like proof that something was wrong with me. This song is the moment I stop judging them and begin listening. Even the parts that built walls, disappeared, froze, or fought were trying to protect me and keep me alive.
The ending is about integration rather than erasing anything. When every part is finally allowed to speak, they stop sounding like chaos and begin sounding like harmony. I am not broken or made of fragments—I am becoming whole, and every part of me deserves to come home.
