Return to Sender
Return to Sender is about everything I carried after relationships that was never mine to keep: the blame, the self-doubt, the accusations, the shame, the responsibility for someone else’s wounds, and the belief that if I had just loved differently, maybe everything would have turned out differently.
These songs move from questioning my own reality to recognizing the patterns, double standards, and emotional damage that kept me doubting myself. Eventually, I stopped asking what was wrong with me and started asking what I had been carrying that never belonged to me in the first place.
This isn’t about revenge. It’s about responsibility. I can acknowledge my own patterns without taking responsibility for someone else’s choices. I can understand someone without excusing them. I can tell the truth without carrying the consequences of that truth for them.
Some things were handed to me that were never mine. This is me returning them to sender.
