Conditioned To Stay
For when the question changes from “Why did I stay?” to “What taught me not to trust myself enough to leave?”

Songs about abuse, survival, and closing the case against yourself.
A collection of songs for the questions no one asks out loud. For every question that kept me blaming myself. For every moment I tried to make it smaller. For every truth I had to finally say.
I wrote these songs to remind myself of what I already knew.Read why I wrote these songs ↓Start Here
You don’t have to have the words yet. You just have to recognize yourself.
These songs are for the questions that come after abuse, the ones that leave you questioning your reactions, your choices, and somehow, yourself.
You are not alone in any of this.
What are you questioning?
Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me
Why I wrote these songs
I wrote these songs because knowing something intellectually and believing it emotionally are two different things.
There are still moments when my brain tries to hand the blame back to me, when I question why I stayed, why I went back, or what I could have done differently.
These songs are what I come back to when that happens. They remind me of what I know when my feelings are telling me something else: I wasn’t responsible for someone else’s choices. It wasn’t my fault.

Album story
I kept searching for evidence that it was my fault. I finally found the truth instead.
This album is everything I had to learn after spending too long questioning what I already knew.
I picked apart every moment, every reaction, every reason I stayed, searching for something I could've done differently. Somehow blaming myself felt easier than accepting that someone else made a choice I couldn't control.
These songs came from finally asking a different question: not “What did I do wrong?” but “Why am I carrying the blame for what someone else chose to do?” Case Closed is for anyone who went back. Who froze. Who stayed. Who still cared, and then put themselves on trial for it.
You don't have to keep cross-examining yourself to deserve peace. Sometimes closure is finally believing yourself. This is me closing the case against myself.
Care beyond the album

If you found yourself somewhere in these songs…
Maybe you came here looking for an answer.
Maybe you just needed to hear somebody put words to something you’ve never known how to explain.
Either way, I hope you leave with less blame than you came in carrying.
You don’t have to understand every reason you stayed.
You don’t have to explain every reaction you had.
You don’t have to keep searching for the thing you could’ve done differently.
Some things were never yours to carry.
I spent a long time treating myself like the defendant.
I’m not doing that anymore.
