Fell For It Again

For the part of you that keeps falling for the hopeful moment instead of trusting the pattern.

A gentle map of what this song holds ♡

Emotional question
Why does one moment of closeness make me forget all the times they disappeared?
What you may need to hear

You weren’t foolish for hoping this time would be different. But you’re allowed to trust the pattern more than the moment. Hope can come rushing back when someone finally gives you what you’ve been waiting for. Falling for that moment doesn’t erase what you’ve learned. The pattern matters more than the exception.

Featured lyric
“My heart said, “maybe he’s changing” My gut whispered, “don’t start.” I hate how hope keeps outrunning The lessons carved in scars.”
From the song story

For when one moment of closeness gives you enough hope to reopen a door, making you forget all the distance they left behind.

Verse 1 You cracked the door with honesty, One hour of warmth, I started to breathe. You said the things I’d begged to hear, Then vanished like it cost you to stay near.

Pre-Chorus My heart said, “maybe he’s changing,” My gut whispered, “don’t start.” I hate how hope keeps outrunning The lessons carved in scars.

Chorus I fell for it again Your voice, your calm, your one-hour pretend. Now I’m here, checking my phone like a prayer, Fighting the urge to care. I’m mad at me for believing, For letting you back in. It’s the same damn pattern You open up, then disappear again.

Verse 2 A week of silence after one night’s truth, My nervous system pays for loving you. You find your peace in running away, I lose mine when you don’t stay.

Pre-Chorus 2 So I blocked the loop, cut the wire, Trying to calm the constant fire. It’s not revenge, it’s survival Choosing quiet over denial.

Chorus I fell for it again Your softness, your almost-love pretend. Now I’m here shaking off your ghost, Learning not to self-defend. I’m mad at me for believing, For thinking this time it would mend. Same damn pattern You open up, then disappear again.

Bridge I wanted closure, you wanted comfort, I keep confusing the two. Every time you reach for me, I forget what silence can do.

Final Chorus I fell for it again, but this time I’m done. Blocked the loop, saved my lungs. I can breathe without your ghost in my head I’m not falling for almost love again.

Fell For It Again

For the part of you that keeps falling for the hopeful moment instead of trusting the pattern.

Fell For It Again

"Fell For It Again" is about the cycle of hope that keeps people trapped in emotionally unavailable relationships. It's about those moments when someone finally opens up, says everything you've been longing to hear, and for just a little while, it feels like maybe this time will be different. Your nervous system relaxes, your hope comes back, and you begin believing the relationship is finally moving in the direction you've prayed for. Then they disappear again.

I wrote this song because I realized I wasn't falling in love over and over, I was falling for the possibility of who someone could be whenever they gave me just enough hope to keep holding on. The hardest part wasn't his silence. It was how quickly one hour of connection erased weeks of disappointment.

This song is about breaking that cycle. It's about recognizing that blocking someone isn't revenge it's protecting your peace. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is stop reopening a door that has only ever led back to the same heartbreak. Healing began the moment I stopped waiting for potential and started accepting reality.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
