Good Riddance

For when you finally realize you weren’t lacking anything, you were offering depth to someone who kept choosing the shallow end.

A gentle map of what this song holds ♡

Emotional question
Why did I keep wondering what I lacked when they were the one constantly looking for more?
What you may need to hear

Someone else’s constant need for attention or validation isn’t a measurement of your worth. You can offer depth, honesty, and genuine connection and still be incompatible with someone who keeps choosing distraction. You don’t have to compete for the kind of love you want.

For when you realize you were offering depth to someone who kept choosing distraction, and their need for attention was never proof that you weren’t enough.

Verse 1 You say you’re deep, but you drown in the shallow, Chasing reflections, your heart’s just hollow. Eyes on the strangers, scrolling for more, While I was the ocean you washed up on shore.

Pre-Chorus You called it love, but it felt like a dare, You craved the bodies, but I wasn’t there. I gave you soul, and you gave me games, Now all that’s left is the sound of my rage.

Chorus So here’s your anthem, sing it loud: I was the lightning, you’re just a cloud. Good idea? Nah, you’re the worst I’ve had A king of lust with a paper crown, sad. You can’t be real, can’t even try, I needed love, you just needed eyes. Good riddance, baby , not a good idea, Your ghost don’t haunt me, I’m louder than your fear.

Verse 2 You worship the mirror, but it cracks when you stare, All of your secrets still hang in the air. I was the spark you could never contain, Now I’m the wildfire burning your name.

Pre-Chorus You wanted bodies, but I wanted truth, You sold me promises, wasted my youth. Now every red flag looks better in black, I lit the match , no, I won’t look back.

Chorus So here’s your anthem, sing it loud: I was the lightning, you’re just a cloud. Good idea? Nah, you’re the worst I’ve had A king of lust with a paper crown, sad. You can’t be real, can’t even try, I needed love, you just needed eyes. Good riddance, baby, not a good idea, Your ghost don’t haunt me, I’m louder than your fear.

Bridge Tell me, was it worth it? All the stares, all the thirst, it’s Funny how empty your kingdom feels. I was the only one real.

Final Chorus Here’s my anthem, scream it loud: I was the storm, you’re underground. Good idea? Nah, you’re the worst I’ve had A king of lust with a paper crown, sad. You can’t be real, can’t even try, I needed love, you just needed eyes. Good riddance, baby, not a good idea, I’m not your echo ,I’m the end, I’m the seer.

Good Riddance

For when you finally realize you weren’t lacking anything, you were offering depth to someone who kept choosing the shallow end.

Good Riddance

“Good Riddance” is the angry clarity that comes after spending too long trying to turn someone's attention into intimacy. I wrote this song about realizing I was offering depth to someone who kept choosing distraction. I wanted honesty, connection, loyalty, and something emotionally real. He seemed to keep reaching outward, for attention, validation, other women, or whatever gave him the next temporary high. For a while, that made me question myself. Why wasn't what I gave enough? Why could I offer someone my whole heart and still feel like they were constantly looking around for something else? Eventually, I realized I was asking the wrong question. His need for outside attention wasn't a measurement of my worth.

The line, “I gave you soul, and you gave me games,” became the heart of this song because it captures the imbalance I finally stopped trying to fix. I wasn't interested in competing with strangers, screens, fantasies, or someone's constant need to feel desired. I wanted a relationship where being deeply known mattered more than constantly being noticed. And that's really what the “paper crown” represents. Someone can collect attention and make themselves feel powerful, wanted, or desirable, but if they can't offer honesty, vulnerability, and emotional intimacy, there's nothing substantial underneath the crown.

This song isn't sad in the way some of my others are. It's pissed off. It's the stage of healing where you stop romanticizing someone's potential and finally admit: That relationship was not a good idea. The final chorus flips the power completely. I'm not standing there wondering why I wasn't enough anymore. I'm realizing I was offering an ocean to someone who kept choosing the shallow end. And I'm finally done drowning there.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
