Full Story

For when people know pieces of your life, but they don’t know the full story of everything it took for you to still be here.

A gentle map of what this song holds ♡

Emotional question
How do I tell my story without letting everything I survived become the only thing people see in me?
What you may need to hear

Your hardest chapters can be part of your story without becoming your entire identity. Survival can change you, grief can live beside gratitude, and telling the truth about what you endured doesn’t erase everything beautiful that exists alongside it.

Featured lyric
“The grave tried to take me, But grace made a claim.”
From the song story

For when you’re finally ready to tell the story behind the smile, not as a collection of tragedies, but as proof that the hardest chapters never got to write the ending.

Intro This is my life... Not the highlight reel, not the pretty parts. The scars, the wreckage, the miracles... The full story. [Verse 1] Got sick too young, doctors shook their heads, Poison in my blood, thought I'd end up dead. First taste of love? Manipulation and tricks, Gaslighted my heart - what kind of love is this? [Verse 2] Narcissistic games rewired my brain, Made me think chaos was love, made me live in shame. Death threats in the night, break-ins at my door, Bullied 'til I shook, terrified to the core. [Pre-Chorus] Every loss stacked high, every night I prayed, Asking God if He saw me, if I'd see another day. [Chorus] This is the full story, the battles and the pain, The blood in the water, the trauma in my veins. I flatlined four times, but I'm breathing today- So don't tell me survival don't carry weight. [Verse 3] Accident hit, body broke apart, 6,000 stitches trying to restart. Pronounced dead once, twice, in the air, But a nurse said "Not yet," pulled me back with a prayer. Dreams gone - Auburn faded, cheer squad too, Captain of the team turned broken, confused. Friends moved on, I was stuck in the past, Barn full of horses but a future collapsed. Was supposed to ride Grand Prix, Europe on the map, Horse of my dreams waiting, but life cut that track. Grounded in the ashes of who I used to be, Dreams of the podium, now ghosts haunting me.

[Pre-Chorus] They said trauma rewrites DNA, Guess that's why I don't feel the same. [Chorus] This is the full story, the battles and the pain, The blood in the water, the trauma in my veins. I flatlined four times, but I'm breathing today - So don't tell me survival don't carry weight. [Verse 4] Brother lost in addiction, house a war zone, Bullets in the drywall, I was never at home. Raped, betrayed, discarded, abandoned, Every friend I trusted turned ghost or assassin. Dog fights, blood on the floor I couldn't save, Guilt like a chain, wore it every day. Friend took his own life, another one died, Watched a baby slip away while her mama cried. [Bridge ] Depression in my chest, CPTSD, Invisible illness, body killing me. But God lit a candle in the middle of the ash, Said, "You're not your trauma, you're more than your past." [Final Chorus] This is the full story, the beauty and the pain, The grave tried to take me, but grace made a claim. I flatlined four times, but I'm standing today- Proof that God's mercy don't fade away. [Outro] Yeah, this is my life.. Not just the broken chapters. The full story. And I'm still writing the ending.

Full Story

For when people know pieces of your life, but they don’t know the full story of everything it took for you to still be here.

Full Story

“Full Story (My Life)” is probably the closest I’ve ever come to trying to put my entire life into one song. There are pieces of my story people know. Some people know about the accident. Some know about my health. Some know about relationships, trauma, grief, mental health, or the things my family has walked through. And some people only know the version of me they see now. But very few people know how all of those pieces exist inside the same life. That’s why the opening says: “Not the highlight reel, not the pretty parts. The scars, the wreckage, the miracles... The full story.”

I didn't want this song to be a list of everything bad that's ever happened to me. I wanted it to capture what it feels like to look backward and realize just how many different versions of yourself you've had to become in order to keep moving forward. There were dreams I genuinely believed would become my life that disappeared almost overnight. There were moments when survival became more important than the future I had planned. There were losses I couldn't fix, people I couldn't save, things my body remembers, and seasons where simply getting through another day looked nothing like the life I imagined for myself.

And underneath all of that is grief. Not only grief for people or relationships, but grief for versions of myself and futures I thought I would have. But this song isn't supposed to end there. The line “I’m still writing the ending” matters because I don't want everything that happened to me to become a prophecy for everything that happens next.

My faith is part of that too. There have been moments when I couldn't understand why certain things happened or why I had to survive them. Faith didn't make every painful thing suddenly make sense. But it gave me somewhere to put hope when circumstances weren't giving me much of it. So when I say “this is the full story,” I don't mean the story is finished. I mean the scars belong in it. The grief belongs in it. The things I survived belong in it. The beautiful things belong in it too. So do the miracles. So does the person I am becoming now. I don't want my life reduced to what hurt me. Those things are part of my story. They just don't get to write the ending.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
