I Remember Everything

For when healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened, but learning how to carry the memories without letting them become the ending.

Emotional question
What if healing doesn’t require me to forget any of it?
What you may need to hear

Healing doesn't require forgetting. Memories can remain vivid while your relationship to them changes. Remembering what happened and continuing to build a life afterward can exist at the same time.

Featured lyric
“Learning grief’s not just what dies, It’s everything that never stands”
From the song story

For when you realize surviving didn’t erase the memories, it simply gave you the chance to become someone who could carry them differently.

I remember the sirens screaming louder than my name, the glass, the blood, the quiet after, nothing ever felt the same. I remember praying to a God I couldn’t feel, asking why He’d keep me here if I’d never fully heal. They said I was lucky, I said I was lost, counted every scar like the pieces I had crossed. I remember the moment I stopped asking why, and started learning how to stay alive.

CHORUS ‘Cause I remember everything, every crash, every goodbye, every ghost I tried to save. Every hand that let go first, every promise that decayed. Every time I said “I’m fine” while my soul was falling through. I remember everything, and somehow I made it through.

VERSE 2 I remember love that hurt like silence, fists disguised as care. Words that burned through innocence like I should’ve never been there. I remember watching people fade, and holding life inside my hands. Learning grief’s not just what dies, it’s everything that never stands. I remember family chaos, the blame, the weight, the shame. Trying to earn affection from the people who caused the pain. I remember being told I’m “too much,” and still shrinking down to fit. But the fire that didn’t kill me taught me how to live with it.

CHORUS ‘Cause I remember everything every heartbreak, every bruise that didn’t bleed. Every time I begged for safety from the ones who couldn’t see. Every time I forgave too soon, because I thought that’s what love would do. Yeah, I remember everything and somehow I made it through.

BRIDGE I remember wishing for peace more than sleep, remember building walls just to finally breathe. I remember the moment I stopped waiting to be saved and found out healing starts when you choose to stay. Now I carry it all , the pain, the grace, the ashes of the girl I faced. She didn’t die in that crash or that heartbreak she rose every time life said she couldn’t take.

FINAL CHORUS I remember everything and I wouldn’t change a single scar. They built the kind of strength you only find in the dark. Every loss, every bruise, every tear I fought through Yeah, I remember everything and I’m still here because I do.

OUTRO So when they ask me how I survived, I just smile and softly say: I remember everything… and I stayed.

For when healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened, but learning how to carry the memories without letting them become the ending.

I Remember Everything

“I Remember Everything” is about carrying a lifetime of memories that my body and mind never really got to forget, and realizing that remembering isn't the same thing as being trapped in the past.

I wrote this song because so much of my life has been measured in before and after. Before the trauma. After the trauma. Before the loss. After the loss. Before the heartbreak. After the heartbreak. For a long time, survival meant trying to understand why so many painful things happened and why I was still here after them. People could look at survival and call me lucky, while inside I was trying to figure out how to live in a life that no longer felt like the one I recognized.

The line, “They said I was lucky, I said I was lost,” captures so much of what this song means to me. Because surviving something and feeling okay afterward are two completely different things. This song holds all of it, the physical trauma, grief, complicated love, family pain, abandonment, the invisible wounds, and all the times I said “I'm fine” because I didn't know how to explain everything happening underneath.

But the song isn't just a list of painful memories. It's about the person who survived all of them. The chorus, “I remember everything, and somehow I made it through,” is where the meaning changes for me. The memories that once felt like evidence of everything that had happened to me eventually became evidence of everything I had survived.

And I think that's why the final line matters so much: “I remember everything… and I stayed.” I stayed in my life. I stayed through the days when surviving didn't feel inspiring or beautiful. I stayed long enough to meet versions of myself I couldn't imagine when I was in the middle of the worst chapters. I don't have to pretend the painful things didn't happen in order to heal from them. I can remember the pain and the grace. The person I was and the person I'm becoming. The things that changed me and the things they could never take from me. I remember everything. And I'm still here.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
