Every time I gave someone the opportunity to be honest, they reassured me instead. I wanted to believe their words more than the fear in my body. So I did.
I wrote this song because I realized the greatest loss wasn't the relationship itself. It was the trust I lost in myself. The line, "I didn't lose you when you walked away. I lost myself believing you," became the heart of the song. Looking back, I wasn't ignoring red flags because I didn't see them. I saw them, I just kept choosing someone else's version of reality over my own.
This song is about learning that intuition isn't the enemy. It isn't insecurity or overthinking. Sometimes it's the quiet part of us that recognizes the truth long before our mind is ready to accept it. Healing meant rebuilding the relationship I had with myself. It meant believing my own instincts again. Because love should never require you to abandon yourself just to keep believing someone else.
