Two Voices

“Two Voices" is about what happens when everything I’ve been carrying gets loud at the same time.

A gentle map of what this song holds ♡

Emotional question
For when everything you’ve survived starts speaking at once, and you need the part of you that still knows the truth to interrupt the spiral.
What you may need to hear

Pain can make old losses, betrayals, fears, and doubts feel like evidence about who you are. They aren't the same thing. You can be overwhelmed by what you're carrying without making that overwhelm your identity.

Featured lyric
“I’m so tired of fightin’ just to breathe Tired of pretendin’ I’m okay when I’m not okay”
From the song story

For when pain gets loud enough to convince you that you are what happened to you, until another voice inside finally answers back.

[Verse 1 Yeah I don’t think they understand what this feels like Wakin’ up exhausted, I ain’t even lived a real life Every step heavy, every breath got a weight Smile on my face but it’s crackin’ at the base I been carryin’ pain I don’t talk about Tryna scream but it never wanna come out Heart broke, trust gone, mind runnin’ laps Replayin’ every moment, every lie, every trap Tell me how I’m ’posed to heal when it follows me? Everywhere I go it’s like it’s right there hauntin’ me I gave love, got hurt, now I question it Try to open up again, why would I risk it? I don’t feel safe even when I’m alone Got a war in my chest, got a storm in my bones They don’t see it, they don’t know what it cost They just see me still standin’, don’t see what I lost

[Pre-Chorus ] I’m so tired of fightin’ just to breathe Tired of pretendin’ I’m okay when I’m not okay How much more am I supposed to take? Before somethin’ in me finally breaks…

[Chorus ] I can’t keep livin’ my life like this Drownin’ in the dark, can’t find the switch Too much pain, yeah it’s weighin’ on me Everywhere I go it just stays on me I gave everything, still got scars to show Built my walls high but they still got broke Tell me why I feel so alone in this I can’t keep livin’ my life like this

[Verse 2 ] Yeah They said ‘trust me,’ now I flinch when I hear it Gave ’em all of me, they disappeared with the spirit Turned my kindness into somethin’ they could use Now I question every motive, every move You don’t know what it’s like to feel disposable To love someone and realize you were optional To beg for clarity and get silence instead Now I’m stuck with every word that you never said I tried to stay soft but it hardened me Tried to stay open but it guarded me Now I don’t know who I am in the mirror Just a version of myself but a little more distant, a little less clearer I keep askin’ God like ‘why’d You allow this?’ Why the pain, why the wounds, why the doubt hits? Why the people I loved turned cold on me? Why the ones I trusted got control on me?

[Bridge I don’t wanna feel this anymore… I don’t wanna carry this weight… I don’t know how to let it go…

[Verse 3 Stop. Breathe. That pain you feel? It’s not your identity. You think you’re broken ’cause they broke your trust? No, what broke was the illusion you built around them, not you. You survived things that were meant to take you out And you’re still here questionin’ your worth? Let’s talk about it. You gave love, that’s not weakness, that’s rare They mishandled it, that’s on them, not yours to wear You keep callin’ yourself damaged, but look at the truth You’re aware, you’re awake, that’s growth, that’s proof Yeah, it hurt, but it didn’t destroy you It revealed what was never aligned for you You don’t need closure from people who chose confusion You need distance from patterns that feed the illusion You’re not hard to love, they just couldn’t meet you You’re not ‘too much’, they just couldn’t reach you So stand up Not in anger, but in clarity now You don’t chase what walked away, you redefine what you allow

[Final Chorus ] I won’t keep livin’ my life like this Buried in the pain, feelin’ powerless I see truth now, it’s breakin’ through Everything I thought, yeah, I outgrew I gave everything, yeah I loved for real And that don’t change just ’cause they couldn’t feel I’m not lost, I was findin’ me I won’t keep livin’ my life like this

[Outro ] I’m still here… And that means somethin’.

Two Voices

“Two Voices" is about what happens when everything I’ve been carrying gets loud at the same time. It isn't one heartbreak. It isn't one traumatic memory. It isn't one bad day. It's the accumulation. Physical exhaustion can meet emotional pain. An old betrayal can wake up another loss. My mind starts replaying conversations, questioning people, questioning myself, and suddenly every painful thing I've experienced feels like evidence for the same conclusion: something must be wrong with me. That's the spiral.

The first half of this song intentionally doesn't sound healed because that's not what those moments feel like. When I'm inside one, I don't always have immediate access to the calm, rational version of myself that knows everything will pass. Sometimes I'm simply tired. And that's why the word “Stop.” matters so much when the third verse begins. That isn't another person rescuing me. It's another part of me finally entering the conversation. The part that can look at everything my pain is saying and ask, Is that actually true?

The line: “That pain you feel? It’s not your identity.” became the heart of the song. Something hurting me doesn't automatically mean I'm damaged. Someone mishandling my trust doesn't mean trusting was a weakness. Feeling overwhelmed doesn't erase everything I've survived. And another person's inability to meet me doesn't get to become evidence that I was impossible to love.

The final chorus doesn't pretend all the pain disappeared. That's important to me. The circumstances haven't magically changed. The memories still exist. The scars still exist. The voice interpreting them has changed. Instead of “Look at everything that broke me,” it becomes “Look at everything I'm still here carrying.” That's why the final line is so simple: “I’m still here… And that means something.” Sometimes healing isn't having an inspirational answer for everything. Sometimes it's interrupting the spiral long enough to remember: I'm still here. And for tonight, maybe that is enough.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
