The story behind
"Left Me Guessing" is about what emotional manipulation does to your mind long after the relationship ends. It's about loving someone who always had more information than you did, someone who let you keep searching for answers they already knew. Every time I asked for reassurance, I was met with silence. Every time I questioned something that didn't feel right, I was made to believe the problem was me. The relationship became less about love and more about confusion.
I wrote this song because one of the hardest parts of healing wasn't accepting what happened, it was untangling what was real. I spent so much time trying to prove my loyalty while defending myself against accusations that were never true. Meanwhile, the person asking for my trust wasn't offering me the same honesty in return.
Looking back, I realized I wasn't crazy. I wasn't overthinking. I was responding to inconsistencies my nervous system had noticed long before my mind could explain them. This song is about reclaiming confidence in your own intuition after someone convinces you to doubt it. It's about recognizing that love should never require constant investigation, and that needing reassurance isn't the problem, being repeatedly given reasons not to trust is.
The title doesn't just describe the relationship. It describes what emotional manipulation leaves behind. A person constantly guessing. Until one day, they stop looking for answers from someone else and start believing themselves instead.
