Red Flags

For when you’re finally more interested in protecting your peace than decoding another person’s red flags.

A gentle map of what this song holds ♡

Emotional question
What if being alone is healthier than constantly trying to understand someone who keeps me confused?
What you may need to hear

You don’t have to understand every mixed signal before deciding a pattern isn’t right for you. Sometimes clarity is simply noticing how a connection consistently makes you feel and deciding your peace matters more than its potential.

Featured lyric
“Red flags flying, but I’m done decoding I’d rather be alone than waste my time exploding.”
From the song story

For when you stop treating every red flag like a puzzle you need to solve and start treating your peace like something worth protecting.

Boys play games, it’s like they’re chasing trophies, Hearts on a shelf just to feed their stories. Red flags flying, but I’m done decoding, I’d rather be alone than waste my time exploding.

[Verse 1] They’re smooth with the lines but they’re hollow inside, Gaslight your truth just to cover their pride. Narcissists in training, manipulators too, But baby, I’ve got better things than wasting it on you.

[Pre-Chorus] I’ve seen this movie, I know the end, Another false start dressed up as a friend…

[Chorus]

Boys play games, it’s like they’re chasing trophies, Hearts on a shelf just to feed their stories. Red flags flying, but I’m done decoding, I’d rather be alone than waste my time exploding.

[Verse 2] Unavailable, but act like they care, Promise you the world, then vanish in thin air. It’s a circus of emotions, a performance they perfect, But I won’t audition for their lack of respect.

[Pre-Chorus] Every mask they wear starts to slip, And I’m not falling for the same old script…

[Chorus]

Boys play games, it’s like they’re chasing trophies, Hearts on a shelf just to feed their stories. Red flags flying, but I’m done decoding, I’d rather be alone than waste my time exploding.

[Bridge] Maybe it’s not just here, maybe it’s the world we’re in, But I’d rather keep my peace than play a game I’ll never win. I’m not your lesson, I’m not your fix, I’m stronger on my own than caught up in your tricks.

[Breakdown Chorus] Boys play games, and they think they own me… But I’d rather die free than be their trophy.

[Final Chorus] Boys play games, it’s like they’re chasing trophies, Hearts on a shelf just to feed their stories. Red flags burning, I’m not exploding, I’d rather be alone , my freedom’s worth protecting.

[Outro] I’d rather be alone… Than let another red flag take my throne.

Red Flags

Red Flags

"Red Flags " is about the moment I stopped trying to understand people who were never trying to understand me. For a long time, I found myself making excuses for mixed signals, inconsistency, emotional unavailability, and manipulation. I kept thinking that if I could just decode someone's behavior, maybe I'd finally get the relationship I was hoping for. Instead, I realized I was spending more time analyzing red flags than enjoying the relationship itself.

I wrote this song because I reached a point where peace became more valuable than potential. The line, "I'd rather be alone than waste my time exploding," became the heart of this song. Because being single is lonely sometimes. But constantly questioning yourself, chasing clarity, and trying to earn consistency from someone who has no intention of giving it is lonelier.

This song isn't about saying all men are the same. It's about recognizing unhealthy patterns and refusing to normalize them anymore. It's about choosing to walk away from people who play games instead of building something real. For years I thought walking away meant losing. Now I know protecting my peace is one of the greatest wins I'll ever have. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do isn't finding the right relationship. It's refusing to stay in the wrong one.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
